Another pop song in my familiar groovy style. This is supposed to make you dance.
I tried to record this last weekend, and it failed. I tried to interleave the two parts (the “Hungry mind’s appetite” and the “Hold me in your arms” parts), but it sounded awful. I concatenated the two parts today and it sounds much better. Don’t worry - I have expunged the original version from existence.
Another melange of a song. I’m trying different things with each song. The last one used a wah pedal. Oooh.
This offering layers two different parts - they are really two different songs - together. There are moon guitar tone differences between all the songs but those are the secrets of the moon. Played on 7-string guitar in B standard, and 4 string bass in drop D.
Here are all the instruments without vocals:
The lyrics are mostly pandemic era, as is the ‘sex if for immunity’ guitar riff you hear towards the end.
Most of the song is based on another riff that came later- called Hungry Eyes, and the rest is a chord sequence I came up with during recording. All of my recorded songs so far have improvised parts on the guitar. And I had planned on incorporating this tasty riff - called Mathy Apsis. But in the end, I didn’t. As usual I just made up the bass line last minute. It’s funny, the v2 bassline from last weekend is nothing like the v2 one from today. I need to pair up with a bassist and drummer, eventually.
8 songs! Even if half of them are shite, that’s enough for an EP at least.
