Number 4 demo. Another retro sounding pop song (or at least that’s what I’m going for!)
This song conveys a few recurring thoughts:
a) Humans are just animals like all other animals - I think we forget that sometimes. It leads to a lot of bad stuff.
b) I feel like a machine on occasion. Or just a cog in a machine. But I have it easy.
c) How are we supposed to act on the spectrum between human and machine? We operate machines. We train to be machines. Our employers like it when we churn it out like machines. But we must always show our human side.
d) The machines are coming.
I tried to let it breathe a little more. It’s compressed a TON more. The is my first song using Ableton Live 11, which gave me extra tracks (I used 10 in the final mix but worked with up to 14 at a time), and I’m sure will afford me further benefits later once I take the time to use the software properly. But my focus is getting the songs down in some form. One song per weekend is the goal! In order to keep to this schedule, and because going in, my songs are incomplete, I’m foregoing the skillful production for now 😀.
